Sheldon Hart is the director of MGCAE’s Upper Level Thinking Program, a 10-year after school program serving students throughout Bibb County, and the program coordinator for MGCAE’s new Upward Bound Math Science program. Sheldon has over 20 years of experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and over 15 years of experience coordinating, operating, and overseeing youth programs.
A Macon native and alumni of Northeast High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master’s in Secondary Mathematics from Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California.
Sheldon has always had a passion for helping students realize their potential and achieve their postsecondary dreams and goals. He sees MGCAE as the vehicle to achieve his passion. During a time in which so much focus is on the underachieving students, he wants to continue to spotlight the many students who are achieving and fulfilling their personal goals.
In addition to his employment with MGCAE, Sheldon is the President of Cirrus Education Group, Inc., a member of Leadership Macon’s Class of 2017, the Georgia Association of Special Program Personnel (GASPP), the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SAEOPP), and the National Council for Opportunity in Education (COE)
